How to make as map two or more device located in the same media pool by using ddboost + nw ?
That is not easy but is possible. But you may ask why need if storage node is "nsrserverhost" ? Because, many clients can not use as "client direct". they are old system can not be upgraded to NW latest version. Such as old IBM POWER servers.
OK , let get into business. Does it means we could do nothing ? The answer is NO.
Here is what I did.
I have an client "optcnj2", and it be mapped to media pool "boost_ora2" in original. However, I need to RMAN backup one of the oracle database on the client permenently.
At begining, I just reset the backup group define medial pool and change index view , index keep policy to "Infinitely".
But
Yes, oracle rman backup error. It shows that media layer error. But how is possible.
Look at first image, It did not contain the below device in original. That means we need to second path map to permenent medial pool "boost_fsp". It should be no need to that if we would use "client direct".
OK, Here is how to make it.
then we need to bind media pool with this device.
I should do lable if it is at first time
But , the permenent media pool ‘‘boostfsp" already has too much important data.
Then , we can do like this
Yes, I use "Load" instead of "Lable". And it works.
At the end, You may ask why I did that too much steps ?
Because , the storage node is not "nsrserverhost" but client name
